KT Racing and NACON have launched the fourth season of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, a free update for all players that marks the end of the game’s first year of content. The update, released Wednesday, introduces the fan-favorite Casino, new vehicles, a new race type, and significant quality-of-life improvements, including full customization of the in-game interface.
A highlight of Season 4 is the return of the Casino, a feature well-known to fans of Test Drive Unlimited 2. The location serves as a social hub for up to 32 players, allowing them to use virtual currency on slot machines and, in a mid-season update, multiplayer poker. Players can win cosmetics for their avatars and cars, with an exclusive vehicle available for top winners. The update also increases the maximum reputation level from 60 to 70.
The new season adds a fleet of new vehicles, including the Aston Martin DB11 Volante, Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, DeLorean Alpha5, Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, and a Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Virtual Pair WideBody.
To complement the new cars, the game introduces “Stock Races.” This mode features 20 new races across Hong Kong Island and Ibiza, plus 20 modified existing races, all of which require players to use unmodified “factory stock” cars.
Developer KT Racing has also implemented several community-requested updates. Players can now fully customize the heads-up display (HUD). A new “Group Ping” feature allows a player to set up to four routes on the GPS and share the roadmap with their group. Additionally, a new “Active Aero” system realistically simulates the behavior of spoilers on equipped vehicles, including air brakes and Drag Reduction System (DRS) functions.
The in-game Solar Pass has been updated to include two tracks: a free track for all players and a premium track accessible with Diamonds, the game’s new currency. Owners of the Silver or Gold editions of the game will receive a token to claim the premium Solar Pass for free. This token can also be saved for a future season.
With Season 4 concluding Year 1, developers are now focused on Year 2 content and technical improvements. The studio announced it is working on economy balancing, performance optimization, and graphics enhancements. It is also exploring the long-term implementation of cross-region play, cross-play functionality, and a potential offline mode.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is a massively open online racing game set on 1:1 scale recreations of Hong Kong Island and Ibiza. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
