Sony Kicks Off 2026 with a Major Flex: ‘Need for Speed’ and ‘Epic Mickey’ Lead January’s PS Plus Drop

Sony Interactive Entertainment is making sure your New Year starts with high-octane vibes and a heavy dose of nostalgia. On Wednesday, the company announced the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup for January 2026, featuring a mix of street racing, reimagined Disney magic, and deep-underground survival.

All three titles will be available for members to download starting Tuesday, Jan. 6. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your virtual whip or grind for resources with the squad, this month’s rotation has something for everyone.

The games will remain available until Monday, Feb. 2. Here is the breakdown of what’s hitting the library.

Need for Speed Unbound | PS5

If you’re looking to bring that main character energy to the pavement, Need for Speed Unbound is the move. Developed by Criterion Games, this entry takes the iconic franchise and cranks up the style with a unique, graffiti-inspired aesthetic.

Players start from the bottom and have to hustle their way to the top of “The Grand,” Lakeshore’s ultimate street racing challenge. With separate campaigns for solo play and multiplayer, you can spend hours precision-tuning your ride. Between the custom kits and a global soundtrack that lowkey slaps, it’s all about looking fresh while you outsmart the cops.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed | PS4, PS5

Disney is bringing a classic back with a serious glow-up. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a vibrant 3D platformer that puts you in the shoes of Mickey Mouse as he navigates Wasteland—a realm for the forgotten characters of Disney’s past.

The mechanics are simple but deep: use paint to restore the world or thinner to “delete” obstacles and find hidden paths. You’ll even run into Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first creation. It’s a nostalgic trip that feels brand new, proving that Mickey still has plenty of pull in the gaming world.

Core Keeper | PS4, PS5

For those who prefer a more low-profile grind, Core Keeper is an award-winning mining sandbox that supports up to eight players. You wake up in a massive, ancient cavern and have to figure out how to survive.

This isn’t just about digging holes; you’re building bases, crafting high-tier gear, and taking down massive Titans. Whether you’re fishing in mysterious waters or mastering the perfect recipe, Core Keeper is the ultimate “sink-into-your-couch” experience. If you’ve got a squad ready to put in the work, this underground adventure is fire.

Don’t Sleep on December’s Titles

As the new year rolls in, the clock is ticking on the December 2025 lineup. PlayStation Plus members have until Monday, Jan. 5, to add the following games to their library before they’re gone:

  • Lego Horizon Adventures
  • Killing Floor 3
  • The Outlast Trials
  • Synduality Echo of Ada
  • Neon White

Make sure you claim these before the Tuesday reset so you don’t miss out on the free heat.
