Capcom announced the next installment in its iconic franchise, Mega Man: Dual Override, during The Game Awards 2025 presentation on Thursday. The new action platformer, which will be the 12th mainline title in the series, is scheduled for a 2027 release on a wide range of platforms.

The Blue Bomber is set to teleport onto the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

The announcement kicks off a countdown to a significant milestone for the franchise. Here are my standout trailers from the night:

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic While details are scarce, the simple teaser for Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was enough to send chills down my spine. The promise of a new, completely new Star Wars game was rumored prior to the event, and this reveal is a welcome surprise for fans of the wider Star Wars universe.

Screamer – Story Trailer This trailer caught my attention for its vibrant visuals and fast-paced, anime-inspired action. The story trailer for Screamer kept its slick presentation and promise of an exciting PS5 game.

CONTROL Resonant Remedy Entertainment’s official reveal of the Control sequel, CONTROL Resonant, was a masterful display of the franchise’s signature reality-bending aesthetic. The search results suggest a big departure, with a rumor it will be a melee-focused action RPG starring Jesse Faden’s brother, Dylan [2.1, 2.2]. The trailer’s trippy visuals and shift in combat focus have set the stage for an intriguing new entry in the Oldest House.

Invincible VS – Official Release Date Trailer The 3v3 tag fighting game based on the popular series got its official release date. The trailer confirmed that Invincible VS is launching on April 30, 2026, and also featured the reveal of a new character, Ella Mental.

NO LAW – The Official Reveal Trailer From Neon Giant, the developers of The Ascent, came the reveal of their new title, NO LAW. This first-person-shooter is set in the richly detailed, chaotic cityscape of Port Desire, focusing on a quest for vengeance with intense, brutal FPS action.

PRAGMATA – Pre-Order Trailer We finally got a new look and a potential release date hint for Capcom’s mysterious title, PRAGMATA. The pre-order trailer suggests we’re getting closer to experiencing this enigmatic sci-fi adventure.

ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE Announcement Trailer For fans of aerial combat, the announcement of ACE COMBAT 8 was a major moment. The brief trailer promised the intense dogfights and cinematic visuals that define the series, with a projected 2026 launch.

Mega Man: Dual Override The Blue Bomber is back! Capcom officially revealed Mega Man: Dual Override, bringing the series back to its 2D platforming roots. The trailer confirmed a 2027 launch and showcased the classic, challenging gameplay the franchise is known for, sparking excitement for the next chapter in the Mega Man saga.
